Here’s a sock, I’m showing you my sock progress.......
Wodge is never not by my side but at the moment he’s incredibly involved in everything. Those who have dogs know that beautiful noise of smacking head against the bathroom door when you take a speedy pee of escape, you’ll have experienced the pirouette you take as you trip over dog at your feet while opening the oven door, the list goes on but when the dog gets in your photos and your knitting he’s just getting precocious. But having him at my feet while I work is just gorgeous.
I’ll show you my sock story another time. Yarn from @skeinqueen bought from @tangledyarnuk I hope to have them finished before Covid-19 is out, let’s face it. I’m not giving myself an unrealistic deadline.

I’m just going to keep knitting and then gaze out the window until this is all over.
It’s debatable how this will all end, I’ll either knit myself into a serious concern or be incredibly skilled and will be prepared for the next knit apocalypse, who knows. Another Nuuk won’t harm anyone. Can’t wait to go swimming, just thinking out loud.

Hi there 2021, please be kind to my family and friends.

Started my year in the “pool” my new love, swimming with nature and in the cold fresh water and air. It was beautifully calm and relaxing, I’m hoping it’s a good sign. Sheer bliss.
Followed later by a walk up Rushup Edge, just us.
Happy New Year, the new rock and roll.

As Transvision Vamp sang, “I don’t want your money honey, I want your love” if you were there you’ll know, it was a belter, give it a listen, it was a cracker.

My best 9 of 2020
What a year!
Taking the positives from it and there are many, many best bits. Family, friendships, a new niece, yarn and the outdoors, they have been wonderful. New hobbies, baking bread, visiting Anglesey more often and recently throwing myself into cold water.
2021 positives :
What I’m really hoping for is to hug my family and friends we haven’t been able to see, squeeze them and hold them tight without worry, guilt and fear. I warn you, I’m coming to squeeze you, I’ve missed that so much.
And a shed load of colour, yarn and knitting and creating no end of fluff and frills because life may be too short to stuff a mushroom but it’s not too short for colour and fun. I want to swim across the reservoir, walk around Anglesey.But the hugs, I’ve missed the hugs.
Happy New Year and thank you for following me and my colour wheel. See you next year 💛 with Pom Poms on.

It’s the big man’s big birthday today and the kids led a walk along the top of Winnats Pass, along the Broken Road and Mam Tor. A fab day, thanks kids!

Just a perfect day.
Started with sunrise swim in the reservoir and then thanks to the Welsh government for letting us have a day trip to Angelsey to winterize the caravan. We’ve walked a beach and filled our lungs with Angelsey air. This year may have limited some plans but it’s given back so much more and the fresh and outdoors can’t be taken away.
I’m wearing my winter beach favourite @westknits #garterbreeze which really is the perfect beach wrap and my old favourite @qingfibre hat a #nuuk basically all the yarn. I used to work for a catalogue business, can you tell? Look into the distance pose because I’m wearing my Nuuk #2 finished this week. I love this yarn, it’s a wool cotton mix spun from pre-consumer waste from Portuguese spinning mills by @retrosariarosapomar called Mungo, I got mine from @tangledyarnuk love it.
The last few weeks have been bonkers but we took Monday off work for my birthday and climbed up Kinder Scout, me, him and Wodge, felt ace sitting looking out over Derbyshire and Manchester eating chocolate, when one day and I eventually retire, I hope to be outdoors, knitting, swimming and generally.... outdoors.

Oh and... Pom Pom pots are back and for sale in @fernmosspetsupplies Wodge’s favourite store, they seem to be selling quite fast if you want one...run... they’ve been restocked today 💛

I’ve got my #nuuk on!
It’s done and was perfect for a walk through the park this morning. The #nuuksweater was our first #knitwalk project thanks so much @julietillyflop for suggesting this pattern. I’ve already got some yellow from @tangledyarnuk in the wings to make another.
This week has been... crammed, but it’s been dry so my morning walks have been beautiful as we catch the tail end of Autumn and time hop reminded me of a favourite walk 13 years ago when we dragged the kids up Jacobs Ladder from Edale. I miss those days but love having my @knitwalks friends to drag up these climbs!
Happy weekend yarn friends, the long and short of it is I recommend the Nuuk by Jonna Hietala which was in @laine_magazine and I used @westyorkshirespinners Illustrious DK to make this one.

Oh and Biden. Thank god.

I‘ve pulled this old favourite out this week, I think this is it’s 4th winter and I really do love it. Super simple crochet and fab yarn from @thewoolkitchen and I thrown it over leather, jumpers, bury my head in it when Its blowing a hooly.
I’ll pass it down I think and enforce it upon some poor child regardless of how threadbare it may be by then because I love it.
