Any knitter / crocheter will tell you that one of the most important packing rituals for holiday prep is the PROJECT.
All these tips apply to the holiday at the beach, caravan in Wales, a day in the park and a day just not working, make the most of it!
Kit list;
1. A good project bag. I have recently bought this one from @treddlingwoman it’s perfect for a sock / small project and I love it. It’s perfectly made, tabs, handles, size, compact, excellent.
2. Yarn choice. Sock yarn, a contrast mini, (I’m enjoying working my way through @summer.lee.knits sock patterns)Go to my shop or;
3. For a larger project and I’m going to start @westknits #speckleandpop soon, get a bigger bag and wind those cakes ready.
4. Pattern, notions, needles and hooks. Print your pattern and feel free to scribble on it, highlighter pen it, stick washi tape on it, whatever you want! Pop all those additional treasures in your bag too.
5. Pack some treats in your bag, sweeties, gum, coins for the bar…unfortunately never chocolate, if it melts it’s holiday heartbreak early into the romance.

One skein of sock yarn and a smidge of mini skein makes more than a pair of shortie socks, two pairs I reckon, at least, super good value when we’re feeling the pinch.

I’m one sock down and another on the go and the fit is like a dream, and of course, there’s not the excessive leg knitting and who wants a long sock in summer?

*What you need*
1. Skein of sock yarn, tagged in photo and swipe for more inspiration.
2. Optional, a mini skein which I will be bringing to @makersattvmill on Sunday.
3. Sock needles, I use @addi_by_selter but use your chosen sock needle.
4. Darning needle

1. I’ve used the Weekend Shorty Socks pattern by @summer.lee.knits
2. Hide, find the time, relax, switch off and have some essential mindful knitting.

As much as I love the bonkers bright colours, I love the dark, moody colours that’s nature inspires.
It wouldn’t be right not to have a LLanddona yarn, named after the beach we love and visit often. I love it in winter; the dark skies and swaying grasses, a bit like yesterday but end June 🤦‍♀️

Don’t think mohair is just for cold days, it’s a wonderful light and gently warm fibre. Combined with another yarn you can build up colour, warmth and fluff but alone as a single or double ply you can make gossamer thin blouses such as the #cumulousblouse by @petiteknit or doubled the latest @westknits shawl #rainorshineshawl
