Sustainable facecloths and the colour of Germalene 😀 Also, still haven’t finished the sock...
Isn’t it funny how we’re going back to how things used to be?
Years ago all dishcloths and flannels were hand made and I’m back there now. If you like a hot cloth facial this is your cloth, perfectly exfoliating and wipes your face clean, and washed and washed again and again. I love them. Really lovely cold and placed over your face when you’re stressed too.

I love this coral colour too, it has a hint of Germalene about it and feels all the more healthy and healing because of it!

I’ve got 3 pairs of socks on the go and it’s a

I’ve got 3 pairs of socks on the go and it’s a nightmare scenario. Blue pair I promised to finish this weekend, not going to happen. They’ve been in the go since 2017 and they’re for me, They’ve been dragged around China, India and god knows how many holidays and quite frankly are as fresh as something left bottom of the wash basket for 4 years but I’ll finish them and wear them, probably with my Crocs like a right shoe shuffler across the beach. Cares given? No I’ll be so happy, probably on my own as the family flees.
Next pair, sock 1 of 2 only on the needles about 12 months and for the girl.
Socks 3 for the patient man in my life, cast on 6 months ago, promised 3 years ago.
Patience is a virtue and handmade socks are for the wait. I keep telling them.
I’ve got some amazing acid yellow to cast on from Countess Ablaze and I really can’t wait...
And my Crocs. Never thought I’d love them, I do!! Post swim fashion, I might be a woman of a certain age but mentally I’m about 9, and I never had jelly shoes so now is my time.

First walk on Newborough Beach✔️

Throughout this winter I’ve held onto thoughts of the first walk on this beach and what a fab one!

My #julyhat from @kelbournewoolens is great, I’m partial to a hat, especially when my hair goes wild in a slight breeze and I can’t see where I’m going, yarn is Germantown from @tangledyarnuk

I like to hang on to Christmas vouchers and then splurge so I did this week. These @kelbournewoolens are so deliciously soft and colourful. These are for a @westknits shawl, another I know, for the great British summer. Super speedy service thank you Rachel @tangledyarnuk wonderful as ever. On the go is a new swim hat, from @kelbournewoolens Year of Hats, I’m making the July hat, the easiest looking one but I’ve still pulled it out 62 times as I have the concentration span of a goldfish at the moment 🐠 I’m using Germantown yarn, it’s great, I need more, any pink coming @tangledyarnuk I need pink 😻💕

I’ve cast on a #verticesuniteshawl using single merino from @blackelephant.uk - that stunning speckled with neon bits and @madelinetosh green. Bright for the summer and it’s STARTED TO SNOW! ❄️because I’ve got some time off work I knew it would, it’s freezing and the sky is full of snow clouds.
Not to be beaten, we’re having some work done on the garden ready for the month of summer and I’m looking for an outdoor glitter ball, any recommendations? Because by summer, I’m dancing!

New planters went to the pet shop today, I really appreciate @fernmosspetsupplies taking my Crochet Jungle. When the markets closed last year and I couldn’t take my stock to sale, my house turned into a jungle, which of course I love, but I need to share it and the Pom Pom love too! I don’t seem to have used very much blue yarn, it’s just not my go to colour, which is weird considering how much I love the blue skies and waters.
If I had my own Pantone book it would be the Derbyshire series:

Socks for the girl, beautiful flowers @une_fleuriste_a_paris the most gorgeous Parisian florist shop that stopped me in my tracks, Hacienda nights, Grayson Perry, testing @julieknitsinparis patience as she teaches me brioche, a yarn placenta in an art gallery in Stockholm and more and more yarn. Pink makes me super happy.

I got one of those, on this day so many years ago the other day and colour just flashed at me. This is what I’m missing so much this winter in lockdown. Colour comes in many forms, bright yarns, summer, graffiti, sunshine and friends.
So, as Sesame Street say and Big Bird Presents here’s some yellow to brighten the dullest of winters 💛😀
