First walk on Newborough Beach✔️
And we bumped into Rachel @tangledyarnuk and had a fab walk.
Throughout this winter I’ve held onto thoughts of the first walk on this beach and what a fab one!

My #julyhat from @kelbournewoolens is great, I’m partial to a hat, especially when my hair goes wild in a slight breeze and I can’t see where I’m going, yarn is Germantown from @tangledyarnuk

I like to hang on to Christmas vouchers and then splurge so I did this week. These @kelbournewoolens are so deliciously soft and colourful. These are for a @westknits shawl, another I know, for the great British summer. Super speedy service thank you Rachel @tangledyarnuk wonderful as ever. On the go is a new swim hat, from @kelbournewoolens Year of Hats, I’m making the July hat, the easiest looking one but I’ve still pulled it out 62 times as I have the concentration span of a goldfish at the moment 🐠 I’m using Germantown yarn, it’s great, I need more, any pink coming @tangledyarnuk I need pink 😻💕

I’ve cast on a #verticesuniteshawl using single merino from @blackelephant.uk - that stunning speckled with neon bits and @madelinetosh green. Bright for the summer and it’s STARTED TO SNOW! ❄️because I’ve got some time off work I knew it would, it’s freezing and the sky is full of snow clouds.
Not to be beaten, we’re having some work done on the garden ready for the month of summer and I’m looking for an outdoor glitter ball, any recommendations? Because by summer, I’m dancing!

New planters went to the pet shop today, I really appreciate @fernmosspetsupplies taking my Crochet Jungle. When the markets closed last year and I couldn’t take my stock to sale, my house turned into a jungle, which of course I love, but I need to share it and the Pom Pom love too! Thank you to all of you who buy into my little bit of crochet and plant love 💚🍃🌿🌵 I know I’m not the only one partial to some frivolity and a soupçon of fun in pretty dull times, thank you, it means so much.

I don’t seem to have used very much blue yarn, it’s just not my go to colour, which is weird considering how much I love the blue skies and waters.
If I had my own Pantone book it would be the Derbyshire series:

Socks for the girl, beautiful flowers @une_fleuriste_a_paris the most gorgeous Parisian florist shop that stopped me in my tracks, Hacienda nights, Grayson Perry, testing @julieknitsinparis patience as she teaches me brioche, a yarn placenta in an art gallery in Stockholm and more and more yarn. Pink makes me super happy.

I got one of those, on this day so many years ago the other day and colour just flashed at me. This is what I’m missing so much this winter in lockdown. Colour comes in many forms, bright yarns, summer, graffiti, sunshine and friends.
So, as Sesame Street say and Big Bird Presents here’s some yellow to brighten the dullest of winters 💛😀

It’s been a while since I’ve been car park kni

It’s been a while since I’ve been car park knitting at lunch, no guesses why, but a day in the office meant I could catch up on a sock no more than a cuff and escape from the screen for ten minutes.
Socks are always my go to travel knit so unsurprisingly I have 3 odd socks on the go, untouched, including this one. One scraggy one has been to China a couple of times, India and the beach countless times and quite frankly looks like it’s been walked through a festival field after a rain storm. Covid needs to do one so I can shove them in my bag, travel and finish me socks.
Travel, festivals, lunch breaks in car parks, so 2019.
Get me some colleagues, some friends and a party.

For Margot 💛

I was very tempted to make my little patootie Margot her first Nuuk but I didn’t, I added sleeves, promise, swipe right. It’s teeny, made from a worsted weight yarn, quite rustic and perfect for a crawling and climbing baby and for when it’s too warm for a coat, to cold for not. The yarn has black flecks running through which I love because, let’s face it, Aunty Amy ain’t going to be making pastel baby wear. And when I can hug her after this lockdown... that will be more embracing than any super warm jumper.

Yarn is #beiroa by @retrosariarosapomar from @tangledyarnuk originally from sheep in the Sherri da Estrela region of Portugal. I love it I do. Pattern is #flaxsweater from @tincanknits
