Vivid greens and yellows of the grasses and leaves are so beautiful. The dunes of Aberffraw always remind me of the dunes of Northumberland, you want to launch yourself from the top and roll like a 8 year old all over again. Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a good week, I’ve spent mine dyeing and planning yarn, here’s a little peak at some of what I’ve been doing. Now I’ve a glass of wine in hand, stained hands with pink and yellow dye. I look like I’ve smoked ciggies since I was six and been involved in a serious accident with Barbie. But it’s all good, it’s all 💛 I’ve been dyeing for more shop updates and I’ve a couple of dates coming up; Trunk show at @wiseheartandwild and then the following week I’m at the @thewoolmontyshow in Sheffield, not the Full Monty, I’ve not lived. How I start my day has an impact on how my day goe How I start my day has an impact on how my day goes, I’ve worked that out over the years! If I’m stressed first thing it’s going to be a stressful day, if I’m happy then the smile lasts all day. I walk Wodge first thing probably more so for me than him, it physically and mentally sets me up for the day, I absorb everything around me before racing to the next thing. When I’ve got time I’ll swim. This is my beautiful friend Kath this morning 💙 in cold water, in nature with the sun almost risen. It comes to those of you juggling children, it does come, but I do get up silly o’clock to fit it all in! As it’s mental health week this week I’ll share this works for me. And so after years of dreaming and months of plann And so after years of dreaming and months of planning I am officially self employed giving Mamie and Florrie my full time. I am beyond excited. Sometimes you just get that little nudge that tells you that the time is right, and it is now. 💛 Mamie and Florrie; Yarns inspired by places and hand dyed in the Peak District is now my full time job. 💛 Thank you to my family and friends who have encouraged me and not stopped believing that this IS my thing, thank you. 💛 A huge thank you to @julietillyflop who a long time ago I briefed with my branding and she read it perfectly. Not twee, representing the Peaks where I dye, black and white as a perfect contrast to the screaming bright colours of my yarn, and the amazing idea to name each yarn with the @what.three.words location it was inspired by, Julie you’re a genius. 💛 I’m going to have a couple of days off to switch roles in my brain completely and be back next week still shocked that this is it. The hard work starts now, and I’ve lots planned and in the diary. Checking my work in the early morning light. It’ Checking my work in the early morning light. It’s a routine after crocheting late at night. I’m making a baby blanket for a second baby, the first I crocheted for some years ago and it’s always lovely to be asked to crochet for a new baby. This is such soft alpaca and I love blending colours to make rainbow blankets. Photos too of my morning walk and, instead of a routine lunch break, I went for a quick road trip past Mam Tor and Rushup Edge.
