The cushion behind used to be a favourite T.Shirt. Originally a sample from the sample room back in my garment technologist days, I absolutely loved it … but working in childrenswear I must have realised at some point it would be best repurposed as a cushion 🤣

Jumper is coming on, body done, sleeves next, the bags sits and awaits the end of the work day.

A good while ago now I stopped using cotton wool pads for facial cleansing. Some of my girlfriends and I are @beautypie fans and love to share our skincare favourites, these cloths are for my friends to use with their favourite cleansers. Used with warm water they cleanse gently and cooler water when you’re stressed or tired they’re perfect. I’ll add some to my website if you’re interested, easy washed, sustainable and super gently cleansing, I love mine. Perfect for lying down in a dark room after a long week… or a mild hangover.

Knit my way there and knit my way back…I want to have my jumper finished before my next visit to the sea. It’ll be fab for winter walks along the coast, I’m thinking dry, windy, fresh walks… there you have it, 100 days of rain will be my doing.

One beach, one sea.
I just love the colours of the coast, the blues, the sands and greens, long stretching and fluid round shapes, draping swaves of landscape. I know I want to knit these colours and shapes. As a fashion and textiles student my final year collection, many years ago, was drapes and curves, I need to revisit it and get right back into it. The coast and seascapes makes my heart and eyes sing.

So the summer top I knit in the summer which was too big… I pulled it out and started again and made it smaller, shorter and tighter in tension. I’m a firmer believer that if it’s not right pull back and try again. This time it’s worked. As it’s not summer now I’ve layered it and it was warm enough for a walk along the coast 💙 and post swim. I tell you these things because if I can make them then you can too.
Being in Anglesey out of season we’ve met some lovely people; a fab @thebluetits swimmer, lovely locals who’ve stopped to chat and tell us about the landmarks, life on Anglesey and lives reworked, the quantity surveyor in a city who quit to be a lobster catcher for 30 years and lived by the sea to learning all about the swillies, I’ll let you google that. Happy days 💙

So again, I’ve knit an #ankerssummershirt by Petit Knit Using Sandnes Garn Line yarn, a beautiful drape cotton/viscose/linen mix in a NEAUTRAL colour.

Super warm jumper for post swimming. Pattern is @petiteknit Novice jumper in chunky, I added the stripes and narrowed the cuffs. Yarn used is @sandnesgarn #fritidsgarn

I’m making this for the girl. I’m loving knitting, simple rounds on big fat needles, it’s whipping up quick and should be done before true Autumn starts. I’ve got some navy and Schiaparelli pink to make one for me, it’s ok, we won’t wear them together 🤦‍♀️
